Talking Shop: Guiding Principles for Building Interracial Community, with The 94 Percent

A few months ago, we sat down with The 94 Percent and Priya from Women’s Wire, to talk about why women of color are always pitted against each other, and what we should do about it. It’s uncomfortable to say, but it needs to be put out there: we can’t move forward and make concrete changes for the better if we’re always fighting to be in last place. But at the same time. working together for that common good can be just as tricky.

At the end of our conversation, we put together a list of guiding principles that we think all communities of color could utilize when stepping into unknown territory with unknown women from backgrounds and experiences that are different from our own. We’ve also attached the video conversation we recorded.
